The development will involve the construction of a thirteen-turbine wind farm. Approximately 2.2km of new access roads will be required in addition to the upgrading of approximately 2.5km of existing roads. All roads will be approximately 4.5m wide. A level hardstanding area with minimum dimensions of 35m x 22m will be created adjacent to each turbine. The turbine foundations will be excavated to a depth of approximately 2m. In addition, a substation and a temporary contractor’s compound will be constructed.
Excavation began in April 2009 and continued on an intermittent basis to April 2010. No archaeological features or artefacts were revealed as a result of monitoring.
