2010:365 - TUAM TOWN CENTRE, Galway

Monitoring of works associated with the signage for the ‘Tuam Historic Town Trail’ project took place in February and March 2010. Signs were erected at various locations around the town, requiring ground disturbance in the vicinity of several recorded monuments. At some locations a sign was erected as part of the Slí na Sláinte initiative and this work was also monitored. A sign was also erected in the vicinity of Temple Jarlath, a national monument. Ministerial consent was granted for this work. Nothing of archaeological significance was found during monitoring.
