The site is located in the townland of Liscreevin, near Irvinestown, Co. Fermanagh. The proposed development is of a residential dwelling and associated services. The site lies within an archaeologically sensitive area. Nine recorded sites were found to be within a 1km radius, with a further site located on the periphery of this radius. The majority of these date to the Early Christian period. One of these, an aerial photograph site (FER173–089), is located to the immediate north. The aerial photograph appears to show a large circular cropmark measuring approximately 80m in diameter. It is possible that this cropmark extended into the boundaries of the proposed development. If the cropmark is archaeological in nature there is a high probability of subsurface archaeological deposits being present within the boundaries of the proposed development. Three test-trenches were excavated across the proposed development. No deposits of archaeological potential were uncovered.
