The excavation of a trench between 0.2m and 0.7m wide and 0.8m deep for the insertion of ESB services in the southern end of Phoenix Park was monitored. The cable route extended westwards for c. 1.3km from the Magazine Fort. A series of drainage pipes and stone drains were uncovered along the trench. A modern concrete tank was also uncovered but the cable was rerouted in order to avoid any disturbance to the tank. No other features or finds were recovered during monitoring.
