The development will involve the construction of a new sports changing facility in Éamonn Ceannt Park. The facility will measure 728m2. Thirty new car park spaces will also be provided. Intermittent monitoring took place between 15 September 2009 and 4 February 2010 and in total took ten days to complete.

Fieldwork began by monitoring the excavation of a 40m-long x 0.5m-wide x 1m-deep cable trench in an area located immediately south of the development area. This revealed topsoil sealing made ground. Monitoring of topsoil-stripping over an area measuring approximately 45m north–south at the eastern end of the site and 18m north–south at the western end of the site and 44m east–west at the northern and southern ends revealed topsoil sealing made ground. Four 30m-long x 1m-wide x 1m-deep sewerage trenches all revealed topsoil sealing made ground. Excavation of an area measuring 9m north–south x 6m x 1.5m deep for an attenuation tank revealed made ground sealing natural.

No archaeological features or artifacts were revealed in any of the areas of land-take as a result of monitoring.
