Four trenches (each measuring 2m in length by 1m in width) were manually excavated at this site in advance of development. The site lies close to the site of a probable medieval church and graveyard, and it was thought that the proposed development would encroach on remains related to this monument. However, excavation of the trenches showed nothing of archaeological significance was present in the development area.
