Monitoring of invasive ground works was undertaken during January–April 2010 at the Brunswick Superbowl complex within Pennyburn Industrial Estate, Derry, in relation to the proposed extension to development of the existing bowling alley. The proposed development is to create a new entrance area, erect a seven-screen multiplex cinema, new car park area, external façade alterations, associated site works and connection to existing services. Prior to the commencement of on-site works, the development area consisted of partially grassed hardstanding and Bitmac car-parking areas.
Monitoring works were limited in scope and no archaeological features were identified during works at the site.
