Three trenches measuring 20m by 2m were mechanically excavated in advance of the proposed development of a house and garage. Excavation of the trenches showed the area has been heavily truncated in the past with little topsoil across the whole site. This is probably due to an extant farm dwelling and associated farmyard. Nothing of archaeological significance was encountered in any of the trenches.
