Groundwork associated with the development of a 12m-long pontoon on the downstream side of Church Bridge on the northern bank of the Argideen River at its confluence with Courtmacsherry estuary was monitored. The excavation works were confined to a reclaimed area which was built up using rubble material during the construction of Church Bridge. The ground level was incrementally reduced under supervision. No evidence of archaeological activity was encountered.
