Testing was undertaken as part of an application for retention and completion of a stable building located c. 15m from a partially levelled ringfort in the adjoining field to the south. The majority of the development area had been reduced to subsoil level by the foundations of the stable prior to planning application. An inspection of the exposed areas of subsoil and test-trenching of the undisturbed areas to be impacted by the remainder of the development were carried out. The consulted cartographic sources indicate that the ringfort did not extend into the area impacted by the proposed development and no archaeological features or finds were identified during test-trenching.
