A programme of targeted testing of a proposed development site at Carrignagroghera, Fermoy was undertaken following geophysical survey. The geophysical survey was carried out given the proximity of the proposed development site to a souterrain (CO035–112), which is situated within an adjacent residential development. Twelve test-trenches were excavated across the site, some of which targeted geophysical anomalies detected in the previous survey. No archaeological finds, features or deposits were uncovered in any of the trenches and no evidence for the continuation of the nearby souterrain was noted.
