Test excavations took place as part of an EIS for a wind turbine at Dawn Meats, Ardnageehy, Charleville. The faint trace of a possible enclosure visible on an aerial photograph from 2005 is located approximately 100m to the west of the proposed turbine, and two moated sites (CO007–050; CO007–051) were situated 220m to the west. Two test-trenches were opened within the greenfield site and nothing of archaeological interest was noted.
