An assessment and test-trenching were undertaken at this greenfield site to the west of New market on Fergus, in response to a request for further information by the local authority. Seven test-trenches were excavated down to the natural parent material (the trenches ranged between 0.15m–0.4m in depth) with nothing of an archaeological nature uncovered.
