As part of continuing development of their campus, the University of Limerick is constructing a medical school in the town land of Garraun, on the northern (Clare) side of the university campus. To facilitate the students of this faculty, three accommodation blocks will be built adjacent to the Medical School.
Much of the site of the development was disturbed in recent years by construction works of the Cappavilla Student Village east of the site and the erection of the bungalow on the site of a 19th-century farm complex. No archaeological material was uncovered during the monitoring of the site development works.
