An evaluation was carried out at the site in advance of its development for a single dwelling. The site is close to the location of Bronze Age cist burials and medieval booley houses, excavated in advance of quarrying in the area (Williams and Robinson 1985). The footprint of the proposed dwelling (approximately 15m by 12m) was mechanically stripped of topsoil deposits with nothing of archaeological significance being encountered.
