Located to the south-east of Cloughmills in County Antrim, the Wastewater Treatment Works has been undergoing a programme of upgrading. This site is subrectangular measuring approximately 80m north-north-west to south-south-east by approximately 150m.
There are eight recorded sites within a 1.5km search radius with one further site located directly on the 1.5km search perimeter. None of these sites are located within the boundaries of the proposed development though three sites are located within close proximity i.e. a penal site (ANT023–041), a possible Bronze Age barrow (ANT023–025) and an enclosure (ANT023–012). Due to the archaeological sensitivity of the area, monitoring of topsoil removal was required. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered.
