The second phase of work (see Excavations 2009, No. 19, for report on earlier work) began in July with the demolition of buildings adjoining the church. A further 202 individuals were recovered during this second phase, resulting in a total of 374 skeletons. Phase 2 saw the excavation of an enclosed family burial plot, as well as the recovery of more fragments of clothing, coffin plates, intact coffins and a set of false teeth.
