2009:859 - FASSAROE: Berryfield Lane, Wicklow

Testing was undertaken in May 2009 of proposed development lands at Berryfield Lane, Fassaroe, in compliance with a planning condition with respect to the development of the lands for playing pitches, as well as the construction of a new clubhouse. There are no known monuments located within 500m of the site, which has a total area of 2.2ha. A total of 54 trenches of varying lengths and orientations were excavated by machine fitted with a toothless ditching bucket. No features, deposits or artefacts of archaeological interest were uncovered during the course of the works.
