Monitoring of groundworks associated with the construction of a single dwelling-house was undertaken at a previously undeveloped suburban site situated immediately west of the zone of archaeological potential for Ferns, WX015–003. The site is located c. 150m west of Ferns Castle.
The monitored groundworks included the removal of topsoil and other overburden from the site and the excavation of strip foundations for the proposed dwelling. No archaeological features or deposits were uncovered during the monitoring of groundworks.
