Moore Marine Services Ltd was commissioned by Dominic Delany & Associates on behalf of Wexford County Council to carry out an underwater impact assessment of a proposed sewage outfall at Duncormick, Co. Wexford. The assessment took place in July 2009. Water flow at the time of the survey was minimal, with good visibility and a maximum water depth of 0.4m.
The field survey recorded that the river is bounded to the north by a wide riparian flood-plain and grassland pasture and to the south by woodland. The riverbed at the site was composed exclusively of soft riverine mud and shingle gravel. No archaeological deposits or features were noted in either the visual or the metal-detection survey.
