Testing was carried out along the proposed route of the Garrycastle Bridge realignment, Athlone, Co. Westmeath. A total of 23 trenches, comprising a total of 545 linear metres were opened along the area deemed suitable for testing. Nothing of an archaeological nature was uncovered.
