Monitoring of a sewerage scheme located a burnt-stone spread in Cloonshanville townland at NGR 173727 291409. The burnt stone seen in the pipe trench was 0.4m thick and 7m long. Oak charcoal was recovered and produced a radiocarbon date of 2578–2438, 2420–2404, 2378–2350 cal BC (2 sigma, UBA 13271).
