Monitoring of a sewerage scheme located a burntstone spread in Ballinlough townland (NGR 158633 276938). The deposit measured 12m long by 1m (maximum) thick within the pipe trench. Alder, hazel and oak charcoal was identified from the deposit. A radiocarbon determination of 1047–894, 872–850 cal BC (UBA13270) was obtained from alder/hazel charcoal.
