An assessment was carried out on the site at Leonardstown, Drumree, in 2007 prior to the construction of a single dwelling and outbuildings. Three trenches were excavated; no material of an archaeological nature was disclosed (Excavations 2007, No. 1348, 07E660. There were two planning applications associated with the development, located in the same field as ME043–043, a field system. The applicants submitted another application in 2009. This necessitated further testing in the areas proposed for the construction of agricultural buildings.
