The development at Kilsallagh Lower, Westport, involved the construction of a 15m telecommunications support structure, equipment cabinet, fencing, part new access track and associated site works, as part of the government’s national broadband scheme. Approximately 30m of linear test-trenches were excavated across the footprint of the proposed development encompassing a 10m by 8m area. No finds or features of an archaeological nature were noted during monitoring.
