Testing was carried out of a greenfield site adjacent to a quarry at Corraun, Ballyhaunis. The work was conducted as part of the planning application for the proposed development, which was an extension of the existing sand and gravel extraction pit with all associated site works. Test-trenches were excavated c. 10m apart and were running north-west to south-east with five trenches running parallel at 50m intervals. No subsurface archaeological remains were found during the testing programme.
