A pre-development test excavation was carried out of a proposed development area at Carrowmore, Killasser, Swinford, Co. Mayo. The development site was located within the zone of archaeological potential of MA049–140. It was proposed to construct a dwelling-house and a septic tank. Eight trenches were opened across the site using a mechanical excavator with a toothless bucket attached. Four pieces of pottery were found during testing which all appeared to be modern. No finds or features of archaeological significance were observed.
