An assessment was carried out in advance of the construction of a service area adjacent to and serving the M1 motorway, Whiterath, Dromiskin, Co. Louth. The work was carried out on behalf of the National Roads Authority (NRA) on 21 and 22 May 2009, under directio number A051. The assessment involved the mechanical excavation of 39 test-trenches with a combined total length of 3005m. One field was tested and no features of an archaeological nature were exposed.
