Testing of the Garden House, Mill Street, Dundalk, was carried out on 11 May 2009. A series of six trenches were excavated across the site that revealed eight archaeological features. These included a number of post-medieval and modern features and one medieval feature. This feature was exposed in a north–south-oriented trench, parallel to the west boundary of the site, and ran across the trench, with an east–west orientation. It measured up to 3.1m wide and 0.77m deep. Pottery of 12th–14th-century date was recovered from this feature.
