2009:569 - DROGHEDA: Ballsgrove, Louth

Moore Marine Services Ltd was commissioned by Drogheda Borough Council to carry out an underwater impact assessment of a proposed floating jetty on the River Boyne at Ballsgrove, Drogheda, Co. Louth. The assessment took place on 7 September 2009. Water flow at the time of the survey was moderate with very poor visibility. The assessment coincided with a low-water spring tide. The site survey recorded that, whilst there was a considerable amount of metallic and other debris noted on the foreshore, none of this appeared to be archaeological.
