Testing took place in the vicinity of a number of monuments as part of an assessment of the Longford regional water supply scheme. A total of nine trenches were opened, eight of which were located within the Lough Kinale–Rathcronan section of the scheme and one within the Lough Forbes–Prucklish section. The latter was located within the area of constraint around LF008–005. The trench was placed in the hard shoulder on the northern side of the N4 road carriageway. Nothing of archaeological significance was found.
