Testing of a proposed development site at Ballycannon, Croagh, Co. Limerick, was carried out as per a further information request from Limerick County Council. The development is located within the constraint zone for the historic town of Croagh (LI020–123) and is adjacent to the constraint zone for a ringfort (LI020–122). The proposed development consisted of the construction of four dwelling-houses, a woodland nature education park with visitor centre and an extension to the Ballycannon Lodge at D&M Garden Centre, Croagh, Co. Limerick. Ten test-trenches were excavated on the site in areas where ground disturbance is likely to occur as part of the proposed development. Test-trenches 1–10 did not reveal any archaeological finds, features or deposits.
