Testing was undertaken of proposed development lands at Rathcoffey North with respect to an application to construct houses on the site. A total of 48 trenches were excavated by machine fitted with a toothless ditching bucket. No features or deposits of archaeological interest were uncovered, although a number of modern pottery sherds and fragments of clay-pipe stems were found during the course of the works. In addition, a fragment of worked flint, possibly a fragmented arrowhead or knife tip, was recovered from the surface of a ploughed field.
