Testing was carried out during March 2009 along a section of proposed pipeline that will form part of the Kildare Water Strategy. The pipeline route was tested for 165m as it passes through (within the existing roadway) the constraint of KD028–053 (ringfort and graveyard). Nothing of archaeological significance was recorded during the testing programme. The variation in ground level between the current road surface of the N78 and the graveyard would suggest that any potential archaeological remains were removed during the initial construction of the N78 road.
