An excavation was carried out adjacent to Maynooth Castle from 11 to 28 May 2009. The site was located within the original outer castle walls in the townland of Maynooth, Co. Kildare. This site was excavated within an existing 5m-diameter concrete pipe that was sitting on the existing ground level. The site consisted of three ditches and three small pits. These features appear to date to the medieval period.
