Testing of a proposed development site at Glanerdalliv, Ballyduff, Co. Kerry, was carried out in response to a request for further information. The proposed development consisted of the construction of a single dwelling-house, garage and associated services within the marked zone of archaeological potential for a levelled ringfort (KE009–072) located to the north of the development site. On examination of the first-edition (1840) OS map, the southern quadrant of the ringfort was apparent partially within the proposed development site. A total of six test-trenches were excavated. No archaeological finds or features were uncovered in Trenches 1–5. Evidence for a bank and ditch were uncovered in Trench 6 however, confirming the existence of the subsurface elements of the ringfort within the site boundary. A number of mitigation strategies were recommended in the interest of the future preservation of the monument.
