2009:443 - FAHADUFF, Kerry

Pre-development testing was requested as further information as part of the planning process due to the scale of the development of five dwellings and all associated site works at Fahaduff, Castleisland. No known monuments were located on or adjacent to the site. In early December 2009 ten test-trenches were excavated across the proposed development site, two lengthways on each individual site. This strategy was agreed in order to blanket test the development site in the event that development plans change. All trenches measured 60–70m long by 1.5m wide by 0.3m deep. No potential archaeological features or artefacts were recorded.
