Moore Marine was commissioned by Bord Gáis Éireann to carry out an underwater impact assessment of a proposed gas pipeline across the Clare and Nanny Rivers in the townland of Carrowmacowan, Tuam, Co. Galway. The survey comprised a visual and metal-detection survey of the
Clare and Nanny riverbeds and visual inspection of the area surrounding the watercourses. The assessment concluded that there was no significant archaeological material at the subject site. The metaldetection survey did record a number of subsurface contacts within the riverbed.
