Topsoil-stripping was carried out in April 2009 in advance of extension works to a GAA pitch in Aghadrumsee. The remains of a late medieval structure and associated gullies were uncovered along with four small isolated features. The structure was composed of four narrow slots and a possible post-hole. These slots formed a U-shaped arrangement with the open end facing north. The largest of these slots contained a significant quantity of charred cereal grains, which produced a radiocarbon date of 405±22 BP, calibrating to 1439–1615 cal BC. Forty-seven sherds of pottery, identified as 15th/16th-century mid-Ulster coarse-ware, were recovered from another of the slots.
