Monitoring was undertaken along the route of the proposed Lissenhall–Jordanstown trunk water mains from April 2008 until October 2009. The works comprise 9.2km of new trunk water mains from the Lissenhall interchange of the M1 motorway, along the R132 to the Jordanstown reservoir. This passes through the townlands of Lissenhall Little, Belinstown, Staffordstown Turvey, Coldwinters, Thomondtown, Corduff Common, Corduff, Staffordstown, Dunganstown, Newtowncorduff, Ballough, Regeens, Oberstown and Jordanstown. The majority of the pipeline was confined to the existing road wayleave and was subject to intermittent monitoring. However, several small river crossings off road were necessary as part of the project (Turvey Stream, Ballyboghal Stream, Corduff Stream) as well as works within the RMP constraints of DU008–062 (fulacht fiadh), DU007–036 (archaeological complex), DU008–034 (mound site) and DU008–023 (site of burials). Ground disturbances at the river works and within proximity to RMP sites were subject to full-time monitoring. Nothing of archaeological significance was identified throughout the course of the project.
