Two brick drains and the foundation remains of two limestone walls, probably of mid-18th-century date, were uncovered during monitoring on the northeastern end of the site. These features were all orientated east–west. The southern wall was constructed of limestone blocks bonded with mortar and was 0.36m high. A brick drain with limestone capping lay immediately to the north of this wall. The northern wall was located 6m further north and was uncovered 0.8m below present ground level. It was of similar construction and was 0.8m wide. Another brick drain was located to the south of this wall and a small area of flagstones was exposed to the west of the drain, at 1.2m below present ground level.
The remains of a late 19th/early 20th-century masonry wall were uncovered at the western end of the site, immediately east of the existing building. This north-east/south-west wall was constructed of well-coursed limestone boulders bonded with mortar.
All of these features were uncovered at formation level for the new buildings. They were covered with terram and remain in situ.
