2009:247 - DONAGHADEE: Bridge Street, Down

Pre-development test-trenching for Phase 1 was carried out at the site of a proposed residential and commercial development at 11 Bridge Street, Donaghadee, during September 2009. No surviving archaeological or historic remains were identified during the course of testing works.

Monitoring of ground-reduction works for Phase 2 took place during November 2009. Ground-reduction works covered a total area of 32m2 within the footprint of 9 Bridge Street. The existing foundations were uncovered up to a depth of 1m from the existing floor level. No further archaeological or historic remains were identified during the course of the ground-reduction works.
