It is proposed to construct a new dwelling and detached garage at lands 40m north-west of 49a Cranfield Road, Kilkeel, Co. Down. The development will include associated hard-standing and landscaping.
Five test-trenches extending south-east/northwest were excavated across the proposed area of development and these were 2m wide. The trenches were 65m long north-west/south-east and evenly spaced apart.
The evaluation indicated that the site has been disturbed by field drains, possible root activity and by agricultural activity. No evidence of archaeological deposits was identified during the course of the evaluation.
