It is proposed to replace an existing sewer within Belvoir Forest Park, Belfast, Co. Down. Due to the close proximity of this work to DOW009–002, a Norman motte, Northern Ireland Water has requested that a programme of works that recommended archaeological testing was required for areas of open trenching and shaft heads.
Testing was conducted at various stages during 2009. Aside from modern demolition layers, a modern red-brick surface and a series of field drains, nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered.
