Testing was undertaken in advance of the construction of a single dwelling at the site in August 2009. The site is situated adjacent the north-western extent of the constraints area established for a clachan (DG010–003), marked on the OS maps as Magherard. A total of fourteen test-trenches were excavated by machine and nothing of archaeological interest was uncovered.
