The Archaeology Company was engaged by Aldi Stores Ireland Ltd as archaeological consultants. A 19th-century kiln was recorded prior to being demolished and the topsoil-stripping phase of the development was monitored. A small area of early medieval iron production was found with a furnace, two charcoal-production areas and two associated pits with waste material. Dating and other analysis await funding from the client.
