Testing of a proposed development site at 151 Main Street, Mallow, Co. Cork, was carried out as a condition of planning permission. The proposed development consists of the construction of an extension to the rear of a house which is also a protected structure. The site is within the zone of archaeological potential for Mallow town (CO033–093). The standing remains on the site consist of a three-storey gable-roofed retail premises fronting on to Main Street. Three test-trenches were excavated on the site. No finds, features or deposits of archaeological interest were uncovered.
