Testing was undertaken on the site of a proposed housing development at Ballymacmoy in the village of Killavullen, Co. Cork. A total of eight linear test-trenches, comprising 494m, were excavated by mechanical excavator along the footprint of the houses. No features of archaeological consequence were identified, however a number of post-medieval or modern features were identified and investigated. These included a number of modern cultivation furrows and stone-filled drains, some dated by modern glass surface finds, and a possible stone path, which led up to an existing pedestrian gate.
