Monitoring of the removal of overburden took place on the site. The top of a large culvert was identified at the rear of the site running roughly north–south. This culvert was identified further north at Daunt Square during the Cork Main Drainage Scheme in the 1990s and by Avril Purcell in 2004 (Excavations 2004, No. 338, 04E0634).
