Excavation at Colmoohan, Co. Cork, was carried out along the route of the Curraleigh West to Midleton gas pipeline. This site was identified during monitoring of topsoil-stripping of the construction corridor. It consisted of a burnt mound measuring 25m long (north–south) and 17.5m wide, located part way up a north-facing slope and incorporating a natural spring. Excavation of this site revealed a fulacht fiadh including a possible sweathouse structure and a hearth. The stratigraphy suggested two phases of activity. Radiocarbon-dating produced a Middle–Late Bronze Age date for this site. No artefacts were identified during excavation.
